I've really needed a little pick-me-up lately, and someone suggested that I remind myself of all the things that make me smile. I guess if the smile is on your face, the happiness will be in your heart? It's worth a shot. Hmm, what makes me smile?
Watching my nephew playing and being smart. A really good cup of coffee. Cool breezes on a bright, warm day. Hearing a good song on the radio and using it to predict a good day. Memories of dorm life. When there's no traffic on the interstate. Every single episode of The Office. The fact that when I come home, whether it's been 5 days or 5 minutes, my dog is always happy to see me. Musicals. Lighthearted conversations.. joking and laughing. Seeing cute, well-behaved kids in public. When someone brings me Chik-fil-a. Celebrating people's birthdays. Phone calls from friends. Anything accompanied by "...this made me think of you." When my Sunday school leader sings. Seeing a cheesy movie on tv for the millionth time and knowing every word. Kissing, good kisses. Having a good hair day. Adam Sandler's song "I Wanna Grow Old With You." Baking muffins. Getting a letter or a card in the mail..not email! Shopping for clothes and shoes. When someone asks me to pray with them. Experiencing my city at night. Swimming.. in a pool, the ocean, anywhere. Seth Rogen and Will Ferrell.. always. Movies that make me want to be in love. And spontaneous road trips with random people.
There are a million other things, but I'll leave it at that since Pepper is really wanting to go outside and play.. which makes me smile.
